Joseph Pilates the founder of the Pilates form of exercise,which
emphasises the development of the body through core
strength, flexibility and awareness, in order to support efficient,
graceful body movements.
Pilates has 6 principles:
1-Centring
2-Control
3-Flow
4-Breath
5-Precision
6-Concentration
These six principals are the essential ingredients for a high quality
Pilates Workout.Quality over quantity,unlike other systems Pilates does 
not include a lot of repetitions for each movement.Instead doing each 
exercise fully, with precision yielding significant results in a shorter
period of time than one can expect. 

Core strength is the foundation of Pilates exercise.the core muscles are 
the deep, internal muscles of the abdomen and back.Which are strengthened 
through pilates exercises and they work in tandem with the more superficial
muscles of the trunk to support the spine and movement.developing your core
core strength and stability through out your entire torso, helping to overcome
back pain. As the trunk is properly stabilized , pressure on the back is 
relieved and the body is able to move efficiently and freely pilates exercise 
method is gaining popularity,either to do it or to start
an exercise program.One of the advantages of this method is it works so well
for a wide range of people.Athletes and dancers love it, as do seniors, and 
those rebounding from physical rehabilitation and also woman after pregnancy. 
Modification is the key to pilates workouts success, all exercises can be 
developed with modifications to suit any requirements and made safe and 
challenging for a person at any level.
Pilates is either done on a mat or floor.
The reformer is the best known resistance piece of equipment in a Pilates
studio.Pilates generally utilises pulleys and resistance from the participants
own body weight on the machine and graduated levels of springs.
